NEGATIVE Polarity 1KV High Voltage for PMT and Gamma Spectroscopy


Low ripple Adjustable Power Supply Unit Negative polarity -700v-1000v with Metal Enclosure. The power supply has excellent HV regulation and additional filtration for the clean DC output. Reverse polarity protection included. The board has low quiescent current of 6mA non-loaded and 10mA with 100M load. Maximum output current on -1000V is 100uA, but it's recommended to use this power supply only with high impedance PMT divider of 100 Mega ohm.


You can trim HV output with miniature potentiometer inside the unit enclosure. Default preset is for minus -850V that usually fit many Photomultiplier tubes. Measure HV with 10M multimeter on the daburn wire output.


This power supply can be used for DIY Spectroscopy projects or driving Scintillation Probes. The module comes installed into metal enclosure for full shielding to protect your project from DC-DC conversion noise.

Negative Polarity High Voltage Power Supply Unit: the power supply is high quality HV DC-DC converter with stabilized adjustable negative output minus 700v - 1000v. The board has low quiescent current of 6mA non-loaded and 10mA with 100M load. The HV output is low noise with additional filtration. You can set HV output with miniature potentiometer inside of the unit enclosure. Default preset is for -850V that usually fit many Photomultiplier tubes.

During starting, when 1uF filter capacitors are still charging, the board can consume 60mA current until HV output is stabilized, it recommended to suspend PMT signal processing for the first 30 seconds.

The energy of 2x1uF fully charged capacitors is (2*1*10^-6F*1000V^2)/2 = 1 Joule and its absolutely not safe level for accident touching. Be careful!

 

I recommend you to use high impedance 80M-100M divider on your PMT Photomultiplier tube. You can refer my DIY Gamma Ray Spectrometer PMT Project as a reference example.
